I hadn't made any changes before this occurred. While I've found the driver page for the motherboard on the MSI website it isn't obvious if any of those include the usb host controller. Included screenshot of device manager and properties window for the problem (sorry about the extra screen, keypad-mousing makes cropping the image and moving windows around pretty much impossible) Is this likely to be a hardware fault? Are any of the drivers on this page the ones I need? 64 I'm only able to even use the computer now through the PS/2 port for keyboard, controlling mouse via numpad, and with wifi in the one working 3.1 gen 2 port. My USB 2.0 ports weren't (and still aren't) working, so it's not just 3.0. I tried updating the drivers through windows, which changed it to USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller, but I've ended up stuck in the same place with the same errors. It was originally Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft). The requested operation was unsuccessful. I've tracked it down to the USB host controller through device manager - it has an error icon on it, and in the properties screen it says this in device status: Ive updated my drivers, rolled back changes, scanned for hardware changes in device manager, uninstalled and re-installed both my Intel® USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft) and. I btw think that the Thunderbolt functionality also stops working after sleep.Yesterday my USB ports stopped working except for the one USB 3.1 gen 2 port. What can I do to fix this? I am very depending on being able to wake my computer from sleep, so this is very critical. The Intel(R) USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller 1.10 driver version is 0.469. I have updated both my chipset drivers, the bios, the thunderbolt drivers, and installed the intel driver assistant but nothing helped. But as soon as I put it to sleep mode, and I wake it up again the error occurs and I cannot make it sleep again or make it shutdown properly until I hold in the power button. When the computer starts again everything is fine, and I can make it shutdown properly. I can also not shut down the computer properly when that error has occured, I need to force it with the button aswell. Its impossible to go back into windows again until I force shut it down with the power button). (The screen shuts off, and goes to black, but the computer is still running with the fans and RGB lights. When that error has happened I cannot put the computer to sleep again, it simply doesnt turn off. When I turn on my computer everything looks fine in the device manager, but after I put my computer to sleep and turn it on again the Intel(R) USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller shows an error in the Device Manager with a Code 10, that it cannot start. I have an Asus Creator B550 Motherboard with built in Thunderbolt ports.
